This is a technical drawing workshop which provides a basic understanding of space and architecture.Throughout the week you will develop fundamental drawing skills so that you can employ the most appropriate medium for illustrating specific architectural ideas.
The course will cover a variety of different types of drawing including plans, elevations, sections, details, axonometric - all drawn by hand.
You will begin with carrying out surveys and research, then learn how to analyse your investigations.
By the end of the course you will have developed you technical drawing skills. The drawings that you make could be used to begin a portfolio for applying to study architecture.
Who should take this course?
The course is aimed at those interested in a future career in architecture, as well as those new to discipline and those who need a refresher week in a creative environment.

Eiffel Wong works as an architect and a designer in his own practice in Berlin and London. Previously, he was a visiting tutor on the MA Industrial Design course at Central Saint Martins. He formulated the curriculum for the very first architectural shot course at CSM in 2002/03. He studied at the Architectural Association in the 90s.
- 10 x A1 drawing paper (594x840mm)20
- 20 x A2 tracing paper (594x420mm)
Important drawing tools:
- 2 x F pencils (between H and B pencil) and sharpener
- pens 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.5, 0.8
- scale ruler showing 1:10, 1:50, 1:100, 1:200.etc
- 45º Set square, 25 cm long
- 30º Set square, 30 cm long
- erasing shield
- masking tape
- cutter or scissors
- measuring Tape (5m - 7.5m Stanley)
- circular template or/and a pair of compasses
