This textile course is suitable for students who want to translate their design ideas from paper onto fabric. You will discover a wide variety of specialist techniques, work with dyed and printed fabrics and learn finishing and surface treatments. Whether you are a beginner or have some experience, this course will give you the tools to explore and refine your own concepts.

Despite the emergence of digital approaches to textiles, designing on fabric remains an alternative and highly effective way of developing new ideas. This course is an unmissable opportunity for you to improve and diversify your practice.

By the end of the course you will have built a body of work on fabrics that you can use to support applications and interviews.

Kangan Arora runs a London-based contemporary design studio, specialising in vivid print and interior textiles. A graduate of Central Saint Martins, she currently combines her own practice with teaching at CSM, recent collaborations and projects include work for REN Skincare, Urban Outfitters, Heal's and The London Design Fair. Her approach is typified by a celebratory use of colour, pattern and abstraction, while rooted in an appreciation of contrasting cultures and a rich tradition of visual storytelling. With a signature style that takes assimilated shapes and unexpected juxtapositions, bringing them to life through bold screen-printing, hand weaving, embroidery and quilting. www.kanganarora.com
