Cosmetics have been around for 1000s of years. This short course will focus on using make-up as part of a narrative. It will give you an overview of the history of cosmetics and a short introduction to make-up artistry. You will look at fashion trends and be given the opportunity to learn practical make-up skills. You will be taught how to use make-up techniques to interpret and create a look and you will be given the chance to try out these looks with a photographer in the studio!

Tutor information

Kristina Vidic is highly experienced freelance make-up artist who has been working in the heart of the industry for many years. She works on fashion shows around the globe, heading her own team or  alongside leading make-up artists in fashion. Kristina also works globally on advertising, music, fashion and beauty shoots, collaborate with photographers and other creatives in the industry.  She cooperates with major makeup brands and is an experienced international lecturer in make up artistry and has run many successful workshops at Central Saint Martins.  www.kristinavidic.com


Materials

Please bring with you to the first session:

    Small sketch/note book A4 or smaller
  • Pens
  • Coloured pencils
  • 1-3 Visual images that you find inspiring
  • A camera
  • A selection of make-up brushes, if you own them, as we have limited number of brushes at college for students to use. There will be an opportunity to purchase a set of (or individual) high quality brushes (designed by Kristina Vidic herself, made in Japan) during the course if you wish these will cost £100 - 150
  • You do not need to bring make-up materials to the course as make up kit will be provided. However, if you want to create a specific look you may need to bring or buy additional make-up during the course.
