Topics covered include:
- how to write news and features
- face-to-face interviews
- building contacts
- getting a job in fashion
- the structure of a fashion team in a magazine
Journalists increasingly have to commission fashion shoots, if not style themselves, so an introduction on how to choose pictures and basic fashion styling are also included.
Who should take this course?
The course is aimed at those looking for an insider's overview into the fashion journalism profession.
Basic writing ability, a good grasp of the English language and an eye for fashion.
After doing this course, you should look into our Fashion Journalism - Intermediate short course, which will provide you with plenty more opportunities for putting what you've learned into practice.
Please note: This course is for students aged 18 and older
Please bring with you to the first session:
- Pens, pencils and writing paper
- 3 fashion magazines of your choice
- You will also need for the last two sessions:
- A2 paper
- Prit stick glue
- 4 old magazines for collage.
