Description

This course is ideal for artists and designers who wish to learn how to make their own books, no matter if you work with drawings, photography, digital art, embroidery or printmaking. It is a beginner's course (no previous experience needed!) which will teach you a few different techniques of making a book, including non-adhesive (Japanese and Coptic sewing) and adhesive bindings (a case-bound book). You will also learn how to make a box using greyboard and bookcloth, which can be used for keeping books or loose sheets. At the end of the course you will have at least three or four books made in different styles and one box. Furthermore you will have learned the fundamental skills and techniques necessary to then go on to make your own artist's book.
