Description

Denim has a rich history spanning over 100 years - from workwear to couture, crossing social, class and gender boundaries. Worn by everyone for any occasion, never out of fashion or season, the possibilities of this unique fabric are endless. This course will give you a foundation from which to design a denim-based collection for your chosen market from initial research to a capsule collection presented to portfolio standard.

Initially the focus will be on research and creating a mood board. You will be introduced to the variety of different denim qualities – collect samples, work on fabric manipulation and identify the wash level for your range.

Once you have fully interrogated the qualities of the fabric you will then design around these and your mood board to create a denim-based range of 3 to 6 outfits. This might be a jean collection or a multi product range for the market of your choice.
