This intensive course provides any aspiring designer or fashionista with all they need to know about fibres and fabrics, and how they relate to creative fashion design and the fashion industry.They will learn about natural and manmade fibres, their properties, and how to recognize them; also how to identify various weaves and knit fabrics, etc...

Description

This intensive course provides any aspiring designer or fashionista with all they need to know about fibres and fabrics, and how they relate to creative fashion design and the fashion industry.

They will learn about natural and manmade fibres, their properties, and how to recognize them; also how to identify various weaves and knit fabrics, etc. and to make informed knowledgeable choices for their design projects or lifestyle. Participants will create their own fabric reference book to take away and handouts of lectures will also be provided.

Veronica Shattuck has over 30 years experience teaching fabric awareness and fashion marketing to design students in Britain and the USA, and for the last 20 years on Central Saint Martin’s renowned Fashion Courses.
