Description

This course will issue you with the tools to move your fashion designs from JUST a product to a marketable brand. You will begin with identifying your customer and USP (unique selling proposition), then through guided exploration of market research and current trends, you will conduct a detailed breakdown of your own personal style triggers and capitalize on this through the process of inspiration, to cultivation and finally to pitch.

Topics covered

You will be taught how to plan a detailed PR strategy, including basic training on writing press releases, biographies, and putting together look books and launch events.

In terms of Identity, you will be guided through branding, including logos, styling mood shots, basic graphics, visual campaigns and the different strategies of fashion marketing.

During the course, brand directors from emerging London based companies along with marketing and PR account managers for major high street and designer brands will present to the group case studies from their first hand experience of the industry.

At the end of the course you will present your branding, marketing and PR plan, along with a sketch book or mood board of personal inspiration to the group for final critique.

You will leave the course with a clearer understanding of what differentiates a fashion design and a fashion brand.

Who should take this course?

This course would suit candidates who are studying fashion design or have just graduated and want to investigate how they can cultivate their designs into a brand.

Alternatively, it would also suit a candidate who is interested in pursuing career in as fashion marketing, branding and PR, as an introduction.

Sketch book and tools to present that suits you, whether that is physical mood boards, or a power point presentation.?

Students may want to bring a notepad and pen or laptop for note taking. Otherwise there are no other materials needed for the course.?
