Description

This Saturday course covers the fundamentals of fashion design including researching for inspiration, developing fashion ideas, figure illustration and portfolio preparation. It is suitable for absolute beginners as well as those with some previous experience. Students on this course have progressed on to more intensive Central Saint Martins courses, such as the Fashion Folio and the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design.



Tutor information

John Booth is Associate Lecturer in Fashion and Textiles on the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at Central Saint Martins. He is a fashion illustrator and textile designer whose practice encompasses collage technique, experimentation with line, embroidery and textile manipulation. John also teaches on the BA Fashion at Westminster University and CSM Fashion Drawing summer courses. He has worked for Zandra Rhodes and John Galliano, and more recently has been designing print and consulting for Ashish.

  • 2B, 4B and B retractable pencil
  • Black permanent 0.1 and 0.5 pens
  • Water soluble pencils
  • Watercolours
  • Gouaches paints
  • Selection of paintbrushes
  • Scissors
  • Pritt stick
  • Tracing paper
  • A4 Layout pad
