Do you want to take the first steps towards fashion design studies? Why not start on the right foot by enrolling on this practical and dynamic Saturday course at one of the world's leading fashion colleges? You will be guided through fundamental designing skills and will leave with a solid foundation and the confidence to continue to develop your designs.
This course is an excellent preparation for studying fashion at higher levels. Previous students have progressed to other Central Saint Martin courses, such as Fashion Folio and Foundation Diploma in Art and Design.
There will be three illustration projects over 10 weeks that will cover:
- visual research for inspiration
- experimentation and developing fashion ideas
- figure drawing and illustration
- advice on portfolio preparation
The projects will give you a taster of what studying fashion at Central Saint Martins is like. You will experiment with 3 dimensional work on the body (mannequins) and will be encouraged to explore different fabrics, drawing and collage techniques.
Who should take this course?
Absolute beginners who are motivated and committed to develop their creative skills.
Those with some previous experience who need to gain more confidence in communicating and presenting their fashion ideas.
