Working with the frame provided you will be shown how to construct a basic pattern and adapt this pattern to create different styles. You will be shown how to test your pattern in calico, cut backings and linings and complete the course by making up in cloth one of your designs.

    Michaela Boskova's professional journey began by assisting the shoe designer and forecast team at Alexander McQueen when she was studying Fashion & Textiles at Reading College. She then joined Ledger & Davis Bespoke Clothiers of Savile Row as an apprentice tailor, and now runs their made to measure shirt business whilst heading their team of cutters.

    Please bring with you to the first session:

    • Any interesting fabrics that you already have and may like to use
    • A plain page note book
    • Pencil
    • Pencil sharpener
    • Eraser
    • Paper scissors
    • 12 inch ruler
    • Geometry set including a protractor
    • Glue stick
    • Fabric scissors
    • A reel of white cotton and selection of household needles
    • Dressmaking pins
