This course will give you an insight into the fundamental principles of interior design. The course will introduce you to the design process: researching your ideas, how to draw them (working at different scales and using different techniques), developing exciting concepts and prototyping your designs in 3D. Additonally we will practice how to talk intelligently about design and communicate your work to others. The skills you acquire and work produced during the course will contribute to your personal portfolio and prepare you for further study in design.

Who should take this course?

The course is suitable for ambitious beginners as well as those who have already studied art and design and who want to build up their skills.

It is an excellent starting point for you if you want to develop a portfolio to apply for further study in interior design or another design discipline.

Tutor information

Amina is a Designer and Producer of Interactions, Experiences and Events. She has presented her work at the London Design Festival, Milan Furniture Fair and Venice Architecture Biennial. Also, lectured at Harvard University, America, the V&A museum, for industry and government. She has previously worked for Heatherwick Studio, Secret Cinema, Kew Gardens and Guerrilla Science.
Lisa Marie Bengtsson is a designer working across the disciplines and has a distinctive competence in the field of child culture and co-design with children. With a BA in product & furniture design and a MFA in child culture design she now runs her own company Form For Fun. She has designed interior in hotels and libraries, playgrounds, interactive exhibitions, set design, furniture, products, public spaces – all with focus on interior, form and space for children’s play activities.Her work has been featured in MOMA’s filial exhibition ‘The Century of the Child’, Hong Kong Design week, exhibitions in Sweden and LDF.
