The relationship between Central Saint Martins and LVMH has developed over many years across a range of different projects and collaborations and the LVMH lecture theatre is an example of the luxury brand’s commitment to supporting the creative talent of the future.

Since 2011 LVMH has awarded Grand Prix Scholarships to three BA Fashion students each year. Students are selected based on talent and financial need and then funded through their final year on BA Fashion which allows them to concentrate freely on their collections.

LVMH has also funded several very successful student and graduate projects such as Louis Vuitton’s Christmas Windows Project with BA Graphic Design, which was launched in 360 stores worldwide. Givenchy’s Rouge Interdit lipstick project with Product Design graduates won a Wallpaper Magazine Awards and our Graphics and Communication Design students recently completed visual identity project with cosmetics brand Fresh.

To reflect this ongoing partnership the LVMH lecture theatre was opened in 2011 and is regularly at the heart of college activities.  The LVMH lecture theatre is a versatile space, which can be used as one large lecture hall or divided into two separate areas. It provides valuable teaching space but is also used to host events like the College’s Public Lecture Series and many lively panel debates and Q&A sessions.

As well as providing a space that can adapt to a wide variety of different requirements, the lecture theatre has a multi-screen and audio setup that facilitates multi-media presentations.

Bernard Arnault KBE, Chairman and CEO of LVMH Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton received a Honorary Award at UAL's 2014 Graduation Ceremony and announced in his speech: "I am very grateful to be awarded an Honorary Doctorate by University of the Arts London.  LVMH has enjoyed a fantastic working relationship with the university and Central Saint Martins over the years.  The students never fail to produce exciting, ground-breaking designs and we are delighted that so many have brought their talent and passion to LVMH.”
