The leading food processing and packaging company, Tetra Pak, returned to work with Central Saint Martins Graphic Design students following a previous and highly successful collaboration with the College.
The sponsored student project gave students the opportunity to reposition the iconic Tetra Prisma Aseptic packaging through innovative and creative design.
Many brands simply apply their existing flat graphics to packaging without amending them to take advantage of the unique form of the packaging. Keen to address this, Tetra Pak asked students to come up with designs to revitalise and reposition the packaging form at the 125ml, 200ml, 250ml and 330ml sizes.
Briefed by Tetra Pak to create distinctive and arresting graphics that make better and more intelligent use of the surfaces available, students created a variety of innovative solutions to the brief with the support of packaging design experts, JKR Global.
Shawn Soh was announced the competition winner and collected the top cash prize for his romantic and whimsical designs, runner up cash prizes were also presented to a further four students. All the winning designs will be used by Tetra Pak in their sales tools and put in front of major international brands, who will have the opportunity to take them up commercially.
