Students taking part in the Karstadt project, Central Saint Martins.

CSM Graphic Design students brought innovative solutions to Karstadt’s branding and window displays for their "Feel London" promotion, which rolled out in stores across Germany.

Karstadt, a German company with 119 department and sports stores, approached CSM Graphic Design students to generate branding and window display concepts for their "Feel London" promotion.

As part of the live brief, students had the opportunity to work with creative powerhouse Coley Porter Bell who provided professional input at briefings and all key review stages together with Karstadt and their PR Agency.

Emanuela Seminara, one of the competition winners, said: "It's been a great opportunity and my first experience of this kind of work. Interesting and challenging at the same time, really useful to understand how the real world works and it will help me for sure in my future.".

The competition was won by Graphic Design Portfolio Course Students Antonia Skinner, Maria Emanuela Seminara and Chiara Broggi who, along with a major cash prize and IP purchase fee, also spent two weeks, all expenses paid with the Karstadt Design team bringing their 'Street View' concept to life at the offices in Essen, Dusseldorf and Berlin. They also attended the media launch party.

Winner Chiara Broggi comented: "I've already been overcome and surprised by wonderful satisfaction and inspiration."
