Jemima Janney - The Radar
After a year and a half studying medicine, New York-based Londoner, Jemima Janney, realised that her passion lay in fashion design and so decided to defer her study. Within six months she had worked at Rag & Bone, with London Fashion Week designer Zoë Jordan and at Topshop Unique under the guidance of Kate Phelan. Alongside this, Jemima signed up to an Artscom evening course at Central Saint Martins to fine-tune her technical skills.
A self-professed workaholic "I've always wanted to do too many things… bigger, faster, sooner" the dedication has clearly paid off.
After a year working at Topshop, Jemima left to work on costumes for the new Tom Clancy film, Maryland starring Kevin Costner, Kiera Knightley and Kenneth Brannagh and then began work on her own label.
With a string of celebrity clients now under her belt, the emerging designer has just launched a collection of four jackets and, when ready, will embark on a ready-to-wear collection. The future? "I would love to work more with musicians. I love music, and designing for musicians allows me to be part of it in a small way. Oh, and Rihanna! I want to dress Rihanna!"
Jackets, all £370 by JEMIMA.
