At Central Saint Martins we believe that widening participation to art and design higher education is essential to nurturing the artists and designers of the future.
Together with our colleagues at Chelsea, Camberwell and Wimbledon, London College of Communication & London College of Fashion we are the Outreach team, collaborating to make art and design education an open and accessible opportunity for all.
We work with young people in partner schools and further education colleges in Greater London, whose parent(s) or guardians have not completed a university degree. We support students to apply and successfully progress to our courses or other courses within the University.
Our innovative programmes aim to inspire and develop creative potential. We call this work UAL Insights.
Our focus at CSM
At Central Saint Martins our projects mainly focus on secondary and primary schools in Camden and Islington as well as partnerships with pan-London FE colleges.
Where possible we invite parents and families to engage in projects and events so they can see first-hand the benefits of study or a career in arts, design and performance.
As well as working directly with schools and colleges, we collaborate with local and national arts and community organisations such as A Team Arts, Camden Arts Centre, Cubitt and The Courtauld Institute of Art to help us maximise our engagement with young people.
