Our exhibitions explore the Museum’s collections and show them in a new light.

Exhibitions take place in the Window Gallery on The Crossing or the Lethaby Gallery behind the reception area of our King's Cross building.

What's On

Central Saint Martins, Woven Textile Department has a long history of Alumni - both students and staff, designing moquette fabrics for London transport systems since 1937.

Derived from the French word for carpet, moquette is a type of woven pile fabric, in which cut or uncut threads form a short dense cut or loop pile. As well as giving it a distinctive velvet-like feel, the pile construction is particularly durable, and ideally suited to applications such as public transport.

This exhibition is in tandem with the Weaving Futures season at London Transport Museum 22nd November 2016 – 18th February 2017, as part of the Designology programme which features many CSM Alumni.

Weaving Futures highlights the many processes weave designers go through before they arrive at their final designs and explores the variety of methods both analogue and digital used in this process.
