Writing for non-writers: How to get started and keep going

Introduction

There are a lot of myths and misunderstandings about what it takes to be a writer and what sort of process writing is. Many people seem to imagine that there is a peculiar breed of people for whom writing is easy while the rest of us are doomed to struggle horribly with the written word. Like any creative activity, writing is complex and challenging work, but there are ways of approaching writing that can help to overcome the difficulties many of us have.
