Introduction to the Blackboard VLE
Introduction
Blackboard is a web based resource that provides a platform to support and augment learning and teaching through the delivery of content, scheduling of activities, communicating with students and monitoring student progress. Currently all UAL courses have a Blackboard course site with students automatically enrolled.
Who should attend?
This workshop is for anyone who would like to learn the basic skills for using Blackboard and build confidence in using the features of the environment. It provides an introduction to the environment and explores how typical tasks are performed.

What are the expected Learning Outcomes?
By the end of the session, you will have a better understanding of what Blackboard offers and how to create an effective course/organisation site. On completing the workshop the learner should be able to:
- Access the Blackboard VLE
- Navigate around the Blackboard VLE
- Create Announcements
- Add and update Staff Information Profiles
- Build an effective course\organisation site
- Add different types of content and tools to the site
- Use Blackboard's communication tools
- Create and manage groups
- Add Staff & Students to Blackboard sites
