Blackboard User Management
Introduction
User management involves controlling who has access to your site and how those with access are identified as individuals or being part of a larger group. Being able to control who has access to your Blackboard site is an important part of maintaining your site. Additionally, through the creation of groups it is possible to target communication and content more effectively to site users. This workshop provides participants with the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of user management in Blackboard by exploring the key tools provided for adding and removing users, and group creation.
Who should attend?
This workshop is for anyone who is responsible for ensuring that the users have access to Blackboard sites, and for communicating or providing content for specific users within a site.
What is the overall aim?
This workshop enables participants to understand the requirements for effective user management in the UAL Blackboard VLE, and how through the use of the user management tools it is possible to enhance the user experience of their Blackboard site.
What are the expected Learning Outcomes?
By the end of the session, the learner should be able to:
- Add and remove students from a Blackboard site.
- Add, remove and modify staff roles on Blackboard sites.
- Use the Advanced Group Management Tool to manage and create groups.
- Target communication and content to specific groups of students using Blackboard's Adaptive Release tool.
- Create and deploy electronic sign-up lists.
