Making a Difference: Curriculum Development Funding

Applications for funding for 2011/12 are now closed. The call for 2012/2013 applications will open in September 2012

Staff at the UAL who are interested in developing their curriculum to be more inclusive and valuing and to develop the cultural capital of all students are invited to apply for funding (up to £2,500) to support small-scale curriculum development projects.

The scheme is open to full time and fractional staff (including technicians and support staff) and associate lecturers (minimum 100 contracted hours). You should not be currently enrolled on either the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching or Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice.

Projects should address one or more themes from the University Strategy:

  • Learning and Teaching - through exploring active learning in the context of the discipline and delivering improvements/enhancements to learning, teaching and assessment
  • Communities of Practice - through the creation of networks of practitioners incorporating students, staff and externals that generate new forms of practice and engagement within/across discipline(s)
  • The Student Experience - through approaches to teaching, learning and assessment that improve student satisfaction and success
  • Widening Participation - through confronting differential achievement and participation by students as structured by social class, disability and ethnicity
  • Internationalisation - through the development and delivery of curriculum that is responsive to global issues and the multicultural influences both on our disciplines and from our students
