Our vision

is to be an international centre of excellence, promoting effective learning in the Arts and supporting the University of the Arts London community by developing teaching, elearning and pedagogic research.

Our mission

The Centre will take a leading role in developing and delivering University of the Arts London's Learning and Teaching Strategy and make a significant contribution to:

• Providing high quality support to staff who teach and support learning that is appropriate and responsive to their needs
• Quality enhancement within University of the Arts London
• Constructing and sustaining communities of practice, built on and extending scholarly and empirical understandings of pedagogy and elearning

To accomplish this we will:

• Offer flexible access to our accredited courses to ensure that all relevant staff have the opportunity to gain teaching qualifications
• Encourage and support diverse approaches to teaching and learning, including appropriate and sustainable uses of learning technologies
• Promote innovation in the use of technology for communication and effective learning and teaching.
• Maintain our provision of high quality national workshops and seminars
• Contribute to University of the Arts London's CPD framework, responding to both individual and institutional needs
• Create and sustain communities of teachers and researchers who share and inform one another's practice
• Build on the success of our international conferences to consolidate and extend our networks of practitioners
• Disseminate best practice and the outcomes of research to the wider community
• Ensure we approach our work with issues of ethics and sustainability in mind.
