Professor Carolyn Steedman

Carolyn Steedman is Emeritus Professor in the History department at University of Warwick.

Steedman’s most recent book, An Everyday Life of the English Working Class was published in December 2013.

In Labours Lost: Domestic Service and the Making of Modern England (2009) she discussed stays as part of the wage system in eighteenth-century households. 

She is currently working on a book to be called Poetry for Historians poems for historians, but a discussion of the kind of writing `history’ is.
