Thomas Hjelm - BA Fine Art


Thomas Hjelm is a second year BA Fine Art student at Chelsea College of Arts.

What year are you in and where are you from?

I'm in my second year and am from London, England.

What are you working on at the moment?

I am working with film and installations in order to create an all-encompassing environment for an audience, which will allow them to view art as an experience.

Tell us about the most challenging aspect of your course?

Getting enough sleep! Between constantly reading, making work, preparing for crits, writing essays, going on cultural visits, getting paid jobs and still managing to find time to go out, sleep sometimes gets side-lined. 

And what's surprised you most about studying at Chelsea?

The freedom and support to challenge your individual notions of art.
