Preparation for Foundation is designed for international students applying for the Foundation Diploma in Art & Design. The course is delivered in a Foundation environment and enables students to develop a high quality portfolio of work in preparation for the Foundation.
Students will familiarise themselves with life in London during the six week course, participating in studio based projects and research trips to some of the capital's world famous museums and galleries. Regular group discussions and tutorials will build on communication skills and will support and prepare students for study in further education in art and design.

An offer to a UAL Foundation Course in Art & Design. Alternatively, if you are thinking of making an application or have an offer from another institution, you can make a direct application, by submitting a completed application form along with a digital portfolio of around 20 images of your work and a personal statement (maximum 50 words) outlining your educational qualifications and reasons for applying to this course, to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are from OUTSIDE the European Economic Area (EEA) you MUST present your passport and valid visa/proof of entry clearance to the Short Course office before the start of your course. Please note you will NOT be allowed to study, if do not present a valid visa/proof of entry clearance on the first day of the course. Most of the materials will be provided by the college. However, please make sure you bring the following materials on the first day of the course:
A set of drawing pencils, including a good selection ranging from 2H - 8B (We suggest you get a larger set which you can then use for the Foundation course)
A3 (420 x 297 mm) hard backed sketchbook
A selection of coloured pencils/conte/pastels
A selection of fine liner pens
A small notebook (A5 size)
A putty rubber would be useful for life drawing
