Description

See London’s most famous landmarks through a painter’s eye as you channel your inner French Impressionist! On this two day painting course, we will take advantage of Chelsea College of Arts' central location and set up easels along the Thames Riverbank, where you will have spectacular views of London’s skyline including such buildings as Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, the London Eye, the Battersea Power Station and MI6.

Using Plein Air Painting techniques mastered by the Impressionists, you will learn to create beautiful landscape paintings that effectively capture the light and feeling of a busy scene. Moreover, by learning how to paint quickly and flexibly, you will be able to explore the spontaneous creativity that comes out of not having to plan a painting meticulously. You will also learn to take advantage of what London has to offer and be able to paint without needing a studio space.

Course Outcomes
By the end of this course, you will have developed confidence in your painting techniques and learned new skills which you can use in your future practice.
