Description

Designed as an introduction to the basic components you'll need for MA study; your main focus on this course will examine either Fine Art, Graphic Design or Interior Design practice methodology. Through tutorials and group discussions, you'll look at how key concepts in art and contemporary art theory can be applied to the way you practise as an artist. It's an exciting foundation which you can use to build your future approach to studio practice and theoretical development.

Course Outcomes
You'll understand the relationship between contemporary art theory and your own practice. And you'll appreciate the fundamental differences between BA and MA study requirements.

Who Should Attend
Anyone with a BA or equivalent in Art and Design who is considering studying Fine Art, Graphic Design or Interior Design at MA level; international students about to start MA study in the UK; or, artists or designers keen to develop theoretical knowledge that will inform their work.

Tutor information

Kriton Papadopoulos is an artist and he also completed his PhD at Central Saint Martins looking at the development of the Avant-garde. He has organized various community art projects in collaboration with Kids Company, the Royal Festival Hall and Royal Academy. He has had solo exhibitions both in UK and Europe, including the Tate Modern and Serpentine Gallery. He also exhibits his work with aaart gallery, Athens. Kriton has been an Associate Lecturer at the University of the Arts London since 2003.
