Gain a solid introduction to Photoshop, an industry standard programme, and begin developing skills that can be used in your creative practice. Through creative demos and exercises, your tutor will pair the software down to the essentials and cover the core basics. You will learn about the make-up of a file, colour adjustments, selecting and altering areas of an image and combining images. Taught by a practicing artist and designer you will be provided with the most up to date professional techniques. Your final exercise will bring together these skills to create your own photomontage.
You will have gained practical experience in digital imaging, cropping, adjusting, combining and saving images. You will be able to work with images on a basic level in the workplace, have an important understanding both of the structure of a Photoshop file and of the scope of possibilities and limitations of the software.

Lucy Newman has worked extensively in the design industry, in TV, feature film titles, animation, heritage (British Museum) and corporate communications on a wide variety of creative projects. She has taught many short courses in London art colleges. (RCA, CSM, Chelsea, London Met). Lucy Newman (MARCA) began her creative career at Chelsea and RCA in Fine Art.
