This beginners level course will introduce you to the core principles in 2D drawing application using VectoWorks software. Vectorworks is in widespread use within the architectural and interior design industries. You’ll learn how to create 2D computer aided design (CAD) drawings to scale, producing a number of geomantic shapes before moving onto drawing plans and elevations. Working through a series of exercises you will develop skills required to prepare working drawings that are print ready and compatible to export to other applications. Please note this course is taught on a Mac computer.

Who Should Attend
Students or professionals working in a design-based practice, such as architecture or interior design. Digital skills are essential for anyone aspiring to work professionally within these fields.
You’ll have produced a number of drawings including geomantic shapes, plans and elevations. You’ll realise why Vectorworks is an industry standard software for interior design and small and medium architecture practices. Vectorworks is also being used increasingly in the film industry for production and set design. Individuals who have established core application skills will have the opportunity to progress to the Vectorworks Plus Course.
Rajinder has been working as freelance design consultant for over ten years. With a BA in Business Management and Diploma Interior Architecture and also PGCE in Education. Rajinder has considerable interior and product design experience, working independently and collaboratively with established designers. Rajinder is inspired by exploring narrative and origins of a concept. Describes his discipline influenced by the environment, materials, sustainability and politics. Rajinder has exceptional specialist knowledge in the application computer aided design. Most recently, Rajinder has been involved with renovation projects and curriculum development.
