What is the CLIP CETL?
The CLIP CETL was established in January 2005 as a recognition of the excellent teaching and learning undertaken at both Chelsea College of Art and Design and London College of Fashion.
The CLIP CETL (Creative Learning in Practice Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning) is one of 74 Centres for Excellence in Teaching and Learning throughout England and was established with £4.5 million of funding over 5 years from the Higher Education Funding Council for England. Its remit - to invest £2million in equipment and resources and run numerous projects to reward excellent teaching practice, and to further invest in that practice so that it delivers substantial benefits to students, teachers, colleges and the University.

Creative Learning in Practice exemplifies the close links that our courses have with the creative industries and authentic learning experiences that enable students to become practitioners. We develop innovative ways to build on successful practices.

- Embedding a culture of pedagogic research in the creative arts
- Creating adaptable, sustainable teaching and learning resources showcased in an online learning development site
- Changing the approach to careers information with an integrated programme of resources and opportunities with an interactive website
- Engaging and encouraging the creative practitioner
- Engaging in pedagogy and practice dialogues and changing the culture of learning and teaching in practice
- Promoting and contributing to a shared understanding of creative learning in practice
- Resourcing and building creative learning spaces
- Facilitating student-led and peer learning and working closely with students as partners in our activities
- Supporting practitioner-tutor projects around blended learning/engaging employers/personal and professional development (PPD)/employability.
