Parts & Labour Publication

Fold-out exhibition pamphlet for Parts & Labour designed by Camberwell Press.

Parts & Labour is an experiment devised by John Chilver and Brighid Lowe to reflect on the material conditions of art production.

Who: Parts & Labour
With: Camberwell Press
What: Exhibition pamphlet

Camberwell Press responded to the show’s concept by producing a fold-out exhibition pamphlet that was minimal in content. This allowed the Camberwell Press designers to focus on the identity of the exhibition, taking reference from typographic advertisements featured in magazines, posters and circulars from the early 20th century.

They used the Bureau Grotesque typeface often used at this time. The header typeface allowed the identity of the exhibition to speak for itself, showing up boldly on the wall and in the pamphlet.
