New Buildings at Camberwell
UAL began construction on two new buildings at Camberwell College of Arts in summer 2015. UAL is investing in these buildings to ensure we offer modern facilities and a top quality student experience.
This is the first major work on the college for a generation. It will be a major upgrade of the facilities and create a cohesive campus at our Peckham Road site.
How does this building work benefit students?
This work will deliver the following benefits to students:
- Larger studios and teaching space
- A new lecture theatre
- A new library with study space
- A gallery
- A fully accessible entrance
- The creation of an outside courtyard that will be a focal point of the campus
- On site student accommodation with dedicated study space for the first time
When will the building work finish?
The works are planned to finish in 2017.
Will any courses be affected by the building work?
The college will continue to operate on a business-as-usual footing throughout the building work.
As a result some activities have been temporarily relocated to new, purpose-built facilities at the college’s Wilson Road site, a ten minute walk away.
These include some of the studios and teaching facilities for the following courses:
- BA Graphic Design
- BA 3D Design
- MA Designer Maker
- MA Illustration
The 3D workshop has also been relocated to the existing building at Wilson Road.
