Alumni celebrate together at Central Saint Martins
|
|
Nearly 300 Central Saint Martins alumni came together to join Head of
College, Professor Jane Rapley OBE, at the College's new King's Cross home to
network, meet old friends and raise money for current and future CSM
students.
The College welcomed back former students from as early as 1948 and as recent
as 2011.

Art Smart Review and Live Pitch

Smart 2012 arrived for the second year, this time taking place at 272
High Holborn. Students and recent graduates flocked in to take advantage of
this two day event full to the brim with over 40 talks and workshops to help
the UAL community and friends to get ahead in the competative world of the
creative industries. The event also featured one-to-one advice during the
'Starting Out In' sessions, a unique opportunity to gain exclusive industry
insights from members of the Alumni Association.
The event included a 'Dragon's Den' style task where students pitched their
business ideas to a panel of judges to get business funding or an instant
job!

Men take off in debut show
|
|
Emerging talent from LCF was showcased at the first ever
London Collections:Men in June. Graduates Asger Juel Larsen, Domingo
Rodriguez, Mattheo Molinari and Oliver Ruuger were chosen to represent the
College based on their ability to cope with the pressures of the fashion
industry and the uniqueness of their designs. The show took place at
the Royal Society of Arts.

Gallery Exhibition (12 July - 24 August)

Martine Feipel
was born in Luxembourg in 1975 and graduated from BA Fine
Arts (CSM, 2002). Together with Jean Bechameil, she
created the critically acclaimed Luxembourg Pavilion at the 54th Venice
Bienalle.
This, the final exhibition at the Arts Gallery at 272 High Holborn is a
Thousand Years and runs between 12 July and 24 August (private view 11 July
6-9pm) and is their London debut. The exhibition seeks to confront
viewers with sculptural works in silicone and polyurethane, wood and mirror,
shapes are twisted and distorted.
