Alumni ProfileSteven Thomas Chelsea College of Art and Design Steven Thomas studied at Chelsea in the 1960’s. Most famous for designing the Biba building, Thomas has worked on many different projects throughout his career including Paul McCartney’s recording studio in the Scottish lowlands. Faced with a derelict cow barn and no electricity or water, Thomas created McCartney’s studio in just a month - ‘Thank god for the Aurora Borealis, which allowed us to work two shifts in a day!’ |

University CollectionBEWEB TOMOMOT (2008) David Wojtowycz Wojtowycz's (Chelsea, 2008) work uses language as a visual motif, creating an image that appears to be the work of an art director for an unmade, or unmakeable film. Although the work alludes to a specific time in film history, history itself seems lost and the image could exist in the past, present or possible future. Wojtowycz’s work is currently featured in Future Map 08 at David Robert’s Art Foundation Fitzrovia. For information about any aspect of the University Art Collection, contact Medeia Cohan-Petrolino on 020 7514 8509. |
