| Blue Birds and Other Stories 21 March - 10 April London College of Communication, Elephant and Castle, SE1 6SB This is the first retrospective exhibition of work by conceptual artist Philippa Beale, who has taught postgraduate design at LCC. The exhibition focuses on her wall-based works with over 50 pieces including screen prints, drawings, photographs and digital images. Read more |

| 11 Downing Street Natasha Trotman, 2005 MA Graphic Design graduate from London College of Communication was recently invited by Gordon Brown, Chancellor of the Exchequer, to 11 Downing Street. She has been recognised for her contribution as a graphic designer to a project on financial exclusion and young people. |

| New Maya Hieroglyphs Thursday 8 March, 6.30pm Embassy of El Salvador, 8 Dorset Square, London NW1 6PU Talk and exhibition by CSM alumna and Camberwell associate lecturer Frida Larios, showing a wood carved mural and posters that narrate the story behind a Salvadorean archaeological site through life size, hand-painted "New Maya Hieroglyphs®". Frida's aim is to bring one of the most advanced ancient writing systems in the world to life in contemporary visual communications through "new logograms" that enable access by different audiences such as illiterate people, the visually-impaired and children. | Between Stigma and Enigma 17 - 25 March Museum of the Moving Image, 35 Avenue at 36 Street, Astoria, NY 11106 The first edition of the Fashion in Film Festival opens at Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) in New York this month. The film programme is a large retrospective showcase of film and video work focused on fashion. It features a mix of early and classic cinema, contemporary art, as well as documentary, instruction and propaganda film and includes video work by CSM alumnae Shelley Fox and Anna-Nicole Ziesche. | Graphic and Fine Print Image-making London College of Communication is offering a new Graduate Certificate/Diploma in Graphic and Fine Print Image-making. The course builds upon the rich history of design and image-making at LCC. A dynamic programme, including practical workshops, guest speakers and live briefs will be delivered by a range of professional practitioners. Certificate runs for 15 weeks, Diploma for 30 weeks (2 taught days a week). Places are limited.
