In order to remain at the forefront of technical innovation, UAL needs to constantly invest in new equipment.
UAL's specialist courses are expensive to run due to the technical and high cost machinery required. In order for our graduates to remain at the cutting edge we need continued investment in this area.
A donation of equipment to UAL will give students an opportunity to explore and develop processes that are relevant to modern industry. The new equipment will have a strong impact on the skills the students take with them into their future careers.
New technology and equipment will also allow students to combine digital processes with traditional methods, developing new innovations and techniques for the future.
Swarovski equipment donation
Swarovski Elements donated a state-of-the-art Laser Welder to the Jewellery Futures Room at Central Saint Martins (CSM). The Futures Room provides students with the use of the latest technology, helping to ensure the College remains a truly 21st century art and design school.
Swarovski and CSM have developed a long standing partnership over many years. Alongside the donation of equipment, Swarovski has also committed to student projects, internships and a three-year scholarship programme in collaboration with BA Jewellery Design and BA Fashion.
On behalf of Central Saint Martins, I would like to thank Swarovski for sharing our vision to provide an outstanding education for future generations of jewellery design and fashion students.
