China (Beijing) Alumni Association

Beijing Alumni Group Meeting
Joe Oliver

We are delighted to announce that a formal alumni group is being set up for all the graduates of University of the Arts London's six colleges who are based in Beijing.

As one of the centres of the world’s art industry, Beijing plays a pivotal part in the future of all Chinese creatives and those working throughout the industry.

We hope the UAL community will be at the centre of a new wave of activity for us in the city. We feel that this will be a strong community with the opportunity for members to network, socialise, share experiences and offer support.

We will also be creating links and fostering connections with other regional groups in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

UAL visited Beijing in 2015 to officially launch the UAL Beijing Alumni Association by hosting two very special events.

Local graduates were invited to take part in an interesting open discussion focused on the changing local creative industry. Chaired by Simon Betts, Dean of Wimbledon, a panel of experienced UAL alumni also spoke about their own experiences working in the sector and gave their advice to many new graduates wanting to start out in the city be it working for an established company or as a freelancer.

Later in the week, 140 UAL alumni joined celebrated at a dedicated UAL Alumni Reception hosted in the prestigious National Centre for Performing Arts in the heart of the city. UAL was honoured to have the opportunity hold the event within the beautiful Evolving Design for Performance exhibition, curated by staff from Wimbledon College of Arts. Find out more about these exciting events.
