Situated in Buckinghamshire, Buckinghamshire College Group provides full-time and part-time vocational education and training across a wide range of subjects and course levels.
Since January 2014, the college has facilitated the delivery of 3 UAL Diploma qualifications for those working as grip and crane technicians within the British Film and TV industry:
- Level 2 Diploma in Professional Competence for Grips
- Level 3 Diploma in Professional Competence for Advanced Grips
- Level 2 Diploma in Professional Competence for Crane Technicians
The project, co-funded by Creative Skillset, was established to ensure that the skills and knowledge needed to work in this area of production are kept at the highest of standards.
The qualifications are highly regarded in the motion picture industry and have been used to improve health and safety standards and production skills with ongoing support from organisations such as Panavision, Warner Brothers, Arri Media, ITV and the Metropolitan Police.
Buckinghamshire College Group is currently the only college approved to deliver and assess the UAL Crane and Grips qualifications.
